गुगल कसरी बन्यो सर्च इन्जिनको बादशाह ?

तपाइँलाई केही प्रश्नको जवाफ थाहा छैन वा कुनै द्विविधा छ वा कुनै विषयको बारेमा तपाइँलाई धेरै जानकारी चाहिएको छ भने के गर्नुहुन्छ ? धेरैको जवाफ हुन्छः गुगल गर्छु ।

गुगल अहिले हाम्रो दैनिक जिवनीको हिस्सा बनिसकेको छ । इन्टरनेट प्रयोगकर्ताले गुगललाई आफ्नो साथी तथा शिक्षक भन्दछन् ।

गुगल यहीँ हप्ता २० वर्षको भएको छ । यो दुई दशकको इतिहासमा गुगल इन्टरनेट जगतको बादशाह बन्न सफल भएको छ । गुगल भन्दा अघिपनि कैयन् सर्च इन्जिन थिए, जसको मानिसहरुले धेरै प्रयोग गर्दथे । तर गुगलको अगाडि कोहीपनि टिक्न सकेन ।

४ सेप्टेम्बर १९९८ मा इन्जिनियर ल्यारी पेज र सर्गे ब्रिनले विश्वमा रहेका तथ्य तथ्यांक र जानकारीहरुलाई एक ठाउँमा समेट्नका लागि एउटा प्रोजेक्ट सुरु गरे । सोही प्रोजेक्ट यतिधेरै सफल भयो कि अहिले गुगलसँग हेरक दिन लाखौँ प्रश्न सोधिन्छन् । र, यसका संस्थापकहरु अहिले अरबौँका मालिक बनिसकेका छन् ।

गुगल भन्दा अघिपनि इन्टरनेटको दुनियामा केही सफल सर्च इन्जिन थिए । तीनको चर्चा गराैं

वेब क्रलर ः यो दुनियाको पहिलो सर्च इन्जिन थियो । जसमा सबै शव्दलाई एकसाथ लेखेर सर्च गर्न सकिन्थ्यो । गुगल आउनु भन्दा केही वर्षअघि यो प्रचलनमा आएको थियो ।

वेब स्पाइडर वा वेब क्रलरको अर्थ एक कम्प्युटर प्रोग्रामबाट राखिएको हो, जुन अहिले पनि प्रयोगमा छ । गुगलले पनि आफ्नो वेबसाइटमा यसको परिचय दिँदै लेखेको छ, ‘हामी वेबपेजमा जानकारीहरुलाई सही तरिकाबाट पेश गर्ने दौरान सार्वजनिक रुपबाट विद्यमान जानकारीहरु जुटाउनका लागि स्पाइडर्सको प्रयोग गर्दछौँ ।’

अमेरिकाको वाशिंटन विश्वविद्यालयका एक छात्र ब्रायन पिंकरटनले वेब क्रलर बनाएका हुन् । सन् १९९५ मा अमेरिका अनलाइनले यसलाई खरीद गर्यो । त्यसपछि सन् २००१ मा इन्फोस्पेस नामको कम्पनीले यसको स्वामित्व ग्रहण गरेको थियो । धेरै कम समयमा वेब क्रलर लोकपि्रय भएको थियो । तर केही समयपछि लिकोस नामको एक नयाँ सर्च इन्जिन आएसँगै वेब क्रलरको प्रयोग कम हुन थाल्यो ।

लिकोस

सन् १९९५ मा अमेरिकाको कार्नेगी मेलन विश्वविद्यालयले लिकोस नामक एक रिसर्च प्रोजेक्ट सुरु गर्यो । पछि त्यसलाई टेरा नामक कम्पनीले खरीद गर्यो । सन् १९९९ मा यो सबैभन्दा धेरै हेरिने वेबसाइटको रुपमा रहेको थियो । तर टेरासँग गएसँगै यो असफल रह्यो । त्यसपछि कम्पनीलाई दक्षिण कोरियाको एक कम्पनीले खरीद गर्यो । अन्तिममा भारतको एक अनलाइन मार्केटिङ र्फमले लिकोस खरीद गरेको थियो ।

हाई भ्यू

सन् १९९५ मै अल्टाविस्टा नामको एक अर्को सर्च इन्जिनको जन्म भयो । गुगलको उदयले सबैभन्दा धेरै नोक्सान बेहोरेको कम्पनी पनि यहीँ नै हो । यो सर्च इन्जिन विद्यमान अरु सर्च इन्जिन भन्दा फरक तथा तिब्र थियो । तर गुगल त्यो भन्दापनि अब्बल भएर आयो र बजार कब्जा गर्न सफल भयो । याहुले सन् २००३ मा यसलाई खरीद गर्यो । तर १० वर्षपछि यसलाई बन्द गर्न याहु बाध्य भयो ।

एक्साइट

सन् १९९५ मा लञ्च भएको एक्साइट सन् ९० को दशकमा अमेरिकाको सबैभन्दा मन पराइएको ब्राण्डमध्येको एक थियो । तर बजारमा आएको ५ वर्षपछि नै यसको पतन सुरु भयो ।

याहू

याहुले सफलता हासिल गर्यो तर यसका संस्थापक आफ्नो गोजी भर्नमा मात्र लागिपरे । जसका कारण याहुले समय अनुरुप आफुलाई सुधार्न सकेन । सायद गुगलले यहीँ मामिलामा याहुलाई पछार्न सफल भयो ।

गुगल कसरी सफल भयो ?

गुगल भन्दा अघिपनि सर्च इन्जिनहरु थिए र सफलता पनि प्राप्त गरिरहेका थिए । तर आखिर त्यो के कारण थियो जसले गर्दा गुगल सबैलाई पछार्न सफल भयो ?

इन्टरनेटमा गरिने ९० प्रतिशत सर्च गुगलमै हुन्छन् । झण्डै ६० प्रतिशत अनलाइन विज्ञापन पनि गुगलबाटै आउँछन् ।

हरेक प्रयोगकर्तालाई एक निजत्वको अनुभुति गराउने कोसिस तथा लगातार केही नयाँ गर्ने कोसिसका कारण गुगलले यो सफलता चुम्न सफल भएको हो । गुगलको एल्गोरिदमले पनि यसमा ठूलो भूमिका निर्वाह गरेको छ ।

गुगलका संस्थापक पेज तथा बि्रनले सन् १९९९ मा पेज र्यांक एल्गोरिदम ल्याएका थिए । यसले कुनैपनि वेबपेजलाई उपयोगिताको हिसाबले १ देखि १० को बीचमा श्रेणीकृत गर्दछ ।

गुगलको हेल्प साइटमा यसका सर्जकहरुले लेखेका छन् ः तपाइँलाई जवाफ चाहियो, लाखौँ वेबपेज होइन । हाम्रो सिस्टमको आवश्यकताका अनुसार नतिजा दिन्छ ।

तर पेज तथा बि्रनले केही शूत्र गोप्य राखेका छन्, जसले गुगललाई अरु सर्च इन्जिनभन्दा पृथक र उत्कृष्ट बनाएको छ । यसलाई गुगलले लगातार परिवर्तन गरिरहन्छ ।

सायद गुगलको सबैभन्दा ठूलो उपलब्धि यो हो कि गुगल प्रयोगकर्ताको आवश्यकता बुझ्नमा सफल रहेको छ । #बीबीसी

फेसबुकले खोल्दैछ सिंगापुरमा डाटा सेन्टर, १ खर्बको लगानी

फेसबुकले सिंगापुरमा आफ्नो नयाँ डाटा सेन्टर खोल्ने भएको छ । उक्त डाटा सेन्टर सन् २०२२ मा सञ्चालनमा आउने अपेक्षा गरिएको छ ।
सिंगापुरमा पश्चिमी भागमा स्थापना हुने उक्त डाटा सेन्टर निर्माणमा १ अर्ब डलर, अर्थात् झण्डै एक खर्ब रुपैयाँ खर्च हुने बताइएको छ ।
त्यसका लागि फेसबुकले ११ तले भव्य भवन निर्माण गर्नेछ ।
विश्लेषकहरुका अनुसार नयाँ डाटा सेन्टरका लागि फेसबुकले सिंगापुर छनोट गर्नु भनेको ठूला प्रविधि कम्पनीहरुमा सिंगापुरप्रति लोकप्रियता बढ्नुको संकेत छ ।
१ लाख ७० हजार वर्गमिटरको क्षेत्रफलमा रहने उक्त डाटा सेन्टरमा सयौँ मानिसले रोजगारी पाउनेछन् ।
फेसबुकका अनुसार उक्त भवन शतप्रतिशत नवीकरणीय उर्जाबाट चल्नेछ । साथै यसमा पानी र उर्जाको खपत न्यूनीकरण गर्ने लिक्विड कुलिङ सिस्टम रहनेछ ।

फेसबुकका अनुसार उक्त प्रणालीबाट पानीको खपतमा २० प्रतिशत सम्मले कमी आउनेछ ।
स्मरणरहोस् सिंगापुर एसियाको चर्चित टेक्नोलोजी हबको रुपमा रहेको छ । त्यहाँ धेरै प्रविधि कम्पनीका मुख्यालय रहेका छन् ।
मुलुकमा विश्वका प्रविधि कम्पनीहरुलाई लगानीका लागि आकर्षण गर्नका लागि सिंगापुरले दशकौँदेखि प्रयास गरिरहेको छ । सिंगापुरमा समृद्ध भौतिक संरचना हुनुका साथै चीन, हंगकंग र अष्ट्रेलियासँगको सम्पर्कका लागि पनि निकै उपयुक्त भौगोलिक अवस्थिति रहेको छ ।

The Acer Aspire E15 comes in at Rs 73,800, with specs similar to the Lenovo IP320. The 8th Gen CPU paired with an MX150 GPU is the way to go when it comes to gaming on a budget. This one, however, comes with an additional 128GB storage, which will deliver an immensely better performance upgrade.

The performance you will feel is not while gaming, that remains similar to the IP320. But when comes to app opening times, boot times, system navigation, the laptop is going to be blazingly fast if compared to a traditional HDD. The 8GB of RAM and a separate 1TB of HDD storage helps too.

The reason being this one comes with a 1080p FHD display, which should improve the viewing experience immensely. But it will severely affect your fps counter. The rest of the specs include 4GB of RAM and of 1TB hard disk storage.
